Module -6 OS Security - UNIX

Learn the security features offered by Unix and different methods for configuring Unix based servers to protect against threats.

Why to attend?

This course looks at the features of the Unix operating system – kernel, File system, processes and logging options. We look at the common vulnerabilities that are exploited on Unix systems – buffer overflow, password attacks, setuid etc. You will learn how to implement the built in features of Unix to improve the security – logging and auditing, password controls, user and file based access control. You will learn the exact steps necessary to secure the two most common Unix flavors- Solaris and Linux - and get specific advice for securing some of the most common network services running on these platforms# Apache, Sendmail, and BIND.
